“Hiring demand for Computer Programmers and IT professionals grows every month. More than 147,000 new jobs were advertised online by direct employers in August, a 28% year-over-year increase. However, with continuously growing high demand for a limited talent pool, Recruiters are struggling to fill jobs and leaving ads online for longer periods of time.”

“During the month of August, we found more than 400,000 unique available job ads placed by direct employers.  Of these, more than 17,000 job ads had been online for more than 60 days, representing 4% of the total available job ads found. The majority of this group had been online between 60 and 89 days.”

With almost 2,700 found, this is 27% more ads over 60 days than in August 2010.  Computer Software Engineers (Applications) were close behind with more than 2,500 available ads by direct employers over 60 days old.  Of the below 20 occupations with the highest volume of aging ads, Computer Support Specialists are the only job to see a year-over-year decline in 60+ day old jobs.”
