With just 8 potential candidates in the workforce for every available job ad, Recruiters face fierce competition and, in many areas, a talent shortage.  We used our Hiring Scale™ to look at some of the best and worst recruiting conditions for Registered Nurses across America.

Easiest Places to Recruit RNs:

Pascaguola, MS is likely to be the easiest place to recruit Registered Nurses, with more than 50 candidates in the workforce per job opening.  Other locations that are likely to find RNs easy-to-fill include Valdosta (Georgia), Jackson (Mississippi), Rapid City (South Dakota), and Winston-Salem (North Carolina). Hardest Places to Recruit RNs:

According to the Hiring Scale, Recruiters in Fairbanks, Alaska are likely to experience the most difficult recruiting conditions. With just 1 potential candidate for each job available, this area falls significantly below national averages. Interestingly, the second area that is likely to find RNs hard-to-fill is Anchorage, with about 2.7 candidates per opening. Other locations that are among the most difficult places for recruiting Registered Nurses are Merced (California), Williamsport (Pennsylvania), and Santa Fe (New Mexico).
