It’s All Going Mobile….

Mobile technology seems to be the wave of the future for many companies. At USJobNetwork.com, we have implemented a mobile job board solution for each and every job board we have. Take advantage of it and search for jobs on your mobile device at any time and any location you choose.

In the meantime, how about some data on Mobile jobs? According to Wanted Analytics:

As mobile banking, mobile commerce and mobile gaming increase in popularity among users, businesses are recognizing the need and benefit of connecting with customers through these mobile applications. Over the past 30 days, more than 15,000 new job ads were placed online for Computer Programmers with mobile developing skills – up more than 40% from one year ago.

Of the 3 leading mobile platforms – iPhone, BlackBerry, and Android – Android was most commonly mentioned. More than 3,200 job ads included specific requirements for developing on the Android platform, 2,200 mentioned BlackBerry and 2,100 listed iPhone. Some of the most commonly advertised Computer Programming job titles that require mobile developing skills include:

  • Software Engineer or Developer
  • Web Developer
  • Project Manager
  • Systems Administrator or Engineer
  • iPhone Developer
  • Java Developer
  • Network Engineer
  • Application Developer
  • Android Developer
  • Desktop Support

We also took a look at the metropolitan areas with the highest volume of job ads over the past 30 days and the average salary ranges in those areas. Of the 10 cities with the highest demand, 8 of them are advertising above-average salary ranges. Atlanta and Dallas are slightly lower than average.

Location Average Salary Range
Nationally $91,800 – $106,000
New York, NY $101,088 – $120,000
Seattle, WA $93,600 – $100,000
San Jose,CA $110,000 – $120,000
San Francisco, CA $110,000 – $124,800
Los Angeles, CA $100,000 – $111,000
Washington, DC $100,000 – $115,000
Chicago, IL $95,000 – $105,000
Atlanta, GA $90,000 – $100,000
Boston, MA $100,000 – $110,000
Dallas, TX $89,440 – $100,000

An increasing volume of job ads for a limited talent supply has caused moderately challenging recruiting conditions, with each location experiencing varying degrees of difficulty. Our Hiring Scale™ shows that the national talent pool consists of about 17 potential candidates with mobile skills for every job ad currently being advertised online. Of the ten cities with the highest volume of job ads, Recruiters in San Francisco are likely to find these jobs the hardest to fill since their talent pool is smaller in comparison to the local hiring demand. Recruiters are likely to compete more heavily to source talent for open positions, resulting in a longer time-to-fill and higher cost-per-hire.
