Jobs Report: Where They Are Hiring/What They Are Hiring?

Our friends at Wanted Analytics provide the following data:

 

The volume of new online job ads continues to grow.  In February, employers posted almost 1.7 million new online job advertisements.  This is a 21% increase compared to February 2011 and a 3% increase compared to January 2012.

The most in demand occupation for February was Registered Nurses.  There were over 89,000 new online job ads placed for Registered Nurses.  This is almost a 17% increase compared to February 2011. Computer Systems Analysts, Retail Sales People, Retail Sales Managers, and Web Developers rounded out our top five most in demand occupations.  Only two occupations out of the top twenty saw a decline versus February 2011 – Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

New York City topped our list of cities by Hiring Demand with over 90,000 new online jobs posted in 2012.  None of the cities in our top 20 list saw a decline versus prior year.  Denver with 59% growth, year-over-year, saw the highest growth in the volume of new online job ads.
