Recruitment for Social Media: Where and What Skills Needed..

Social media seems to continue to be the rage. But where do you find social media professionals and what skills are in demand?

Wanted Analytics brings us the details:

Social media skills have seen increasing hiring demand over the past year. In fact, the volume of online job listings for jobs that require social media skill sets has grown 75% between March 2011 and March 2012, causing fierce competition for talent and making these jobs hard for Recruiters to fill. So, we thought it would be helpful to share some information about where some of the best markets may be to find these specialized skill sets.

Our Hiring Scale™ shows that the 5 cities with the best recruiting conditions are Tallahassee (FL), Palm Bay (FL), Scranton (PA), Lakeland (FL), and Napa (CA). These metro areas have large talent pools, in comparison to the current hiring demand being placed by employers in these areas. Recruiters that that are able to source talent from these areas (and possibly relocate candidates) may be able to fill their jobs faster In these locations, open positions are likely to be filled faster – which means job ads are typically listed for shorter periods of time, there is likely to be less competition among employers to source candidates, and the cost-per-hire is likely to be lower.
