Overview The Security Analyst III supports the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of the network security hardware and software to ensure the protection of Pattersons information assets from unauthorized use, modification, or destruction. The role will be involved in all aspects of security operations, participating in enforcement of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments. The Security Analyst III is expected to be fully aware of the enterprises security goals as established by its stated policies and to actively work towardupholding those goals. Management of projects and leading less senior personnel is expected. Responsibilities Major Duties: Oversees Security Operations activities to ensure protection of Patterson information assets. Monitors and enforces information privacy and security policies and procedures compliance. Monitors applications and systems for the occurrence of security incidents and respond using incident response best practices. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and evolving attacks and threat vectors. Manages the work of junior team members and provides leadership and training on new tools or projects. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Sciences, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or area of functional responsibility preferred, or a combination of equivalent education and experience. * 2-3 years hands-on experience and demonstrated expertise with security platforms and tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention and penetration testing. * Security or IT project management experience. * Extensive knowledge of information security technology, design, research techniques, administration, operating standards, and quality control methods. * Solid understanding of LAN/WAN technologies and protocols, FTP, Active Directory, VPN technologies (MPLS, IPSEC, etc.), IIS and other network services. * Knowledge of external/internal attack and penetration assessments, information security risk assessments, security vulnerability assessments, IT audit and risk assessments, network server and application security assessments, security policy standards & procedure. * Ability to assess risk factors and advise on vulnerability of attack from a variety of sources. * One or more of the following certifications:- CompTIA Security+- Certified Security Specialist (EC-Council)- Other security-related certification Preferred Qualifications: * Knowledge of ITIL and/or ISO/IEC 27001 standards. * One or more of the following certifications:- Associate of (ISC)2 for CISSP- GIAC Information Security Fundamentals- Certified Ethical Hacker- Other security-related certifications * Staff leadership or management experience. * Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities. * Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. * Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communicati
