HCS REGIONAL DIRECTOR PHARMACY - UNC REX AND WAKE COUNTY REGION - EXE000ZW Description According to US Census numbers, Wake County's population grew by 43.5% between 2000 and 2010, which was the highest growth of any metropolitan area in the nation for that period. The UNC Health Care System (HCS) is looking for an experienced pharmacy leader for the position of Regional Director of Pharmacy for the Wake County Region. The scope includes oversight of pharmacy services at its UNC Rex Healthcare, UNC Wakebrook, and Holly Springs campuses along with pharmacy services and clinical pharmacy practitioners at a growing number of infusion and ambulatory clinics. This position will assume a leadership role in formulating pharmacy policy and instituting clinical and operational services that promote quality patient outcomes through advanced pharmacy practices. The successful leader will also ensure a strong focus on pharmacy practice development (staff and residency), medication safety, and cost efficient medication management processes. This position will establish and maintain pharmacy objectives and strategies that effectively contribute to the successful execution of the overarching UNC Health Care System strategic plan. This position directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of system-wide pharmacy policies and procedures, processes, and measurement tools. The Regional Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the evaluation, measurement, and reporting of the financial and operational performance of pharmacy operations in their assigned region. Pharmacy Operations Provides strategic guidance and direction for the provision of Pharmacy Services by planning and executing short and long term strategic plans within the context of regional and organization-wide strategies and objectives. Organizes, manages, assesses, reports and monitors cost effective Pharmacy Services to ensure optimal financial and operational performance; optimizes revenue generation through the development, administration, and monitoring of revenue, capital and operating budgets in accordance with regional targets. Manages areas of responsibility within budget authority. Maintains an on-going process to identify, evaluate and implement cost restructuring activities. Establishes, implements and evaluates effective organizational structures, departmental policies, and personnel management practices to achieve effective supervision of pharmacy staff region-wide. Ensures the recruitment, training and retention of motivated, high performing, competent management, professional and technical staff. Leading Change Acts as a catalyst for organizational change.
