Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Sales is a senior leadership position responsible for managing and leading all aspects of the sales operation. The DOS is expected to achieve revenue goals for Alpha Medias (insert brands), the brands digital platforms and the company's events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, share, implement, and communicate sales strategies and action plans.
  • Effectively manage the inventory, pricing.
  • Recruit staff - account managers, sales managers, digital sellers, event team. Coach, train and develop sales talent.
  • Develop spot, non-spot and digital sales opportunities.
  • Establish overall tone and direction of department, set department priorities.
  • Implement ongoing team management routines (eg, sales staff meetings, one on one meetings)
  • Attend face-to-face calls
  • Develop innovative sales commission and incentive plans that drive desired sales behaviors and results.
  • Assist in collection of accounts receivable.
  • Implement sales activities that generate new business & deepen existing relationships (eg, attend and participate in trade shows/community organization events).
  • Control and manage department expenses.
  • Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly. Provide weekly, monthly and annual revenue/pacing reports to Market Manager
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
